Are you currently living the life of your dreams? Or maybe you’re in a place you don’t want to be anymore? Maybe there’s so much more you want out of life?
In this post, I'm going to share with you how to start creating the life of your dreams, TODAY.
But first, let me share with you a bit of my story…
Back in 2011, I wasn’t living the life of my dreams. I was working a job that I wasn’t passionate about, I was in so much debt and all I did with my life was go out and party with friends on the weekend. Not a very fulfilling lifestyle and I got to the point where I wanted so much more. I ended getting into Personal Development and quickly learned that I could achieve anything I wanted in life.
I ended up setting some goals for myself; the first one being able to create financial success, then find my wife, start a family, be able to travel the world and work from the comfort of my home. I’m happy to say that I’ve accomplished all that and I’m living the life I dreamed of back then. But the reason I tell you my story is because I want to explain to you how I created the life of my dreams and how you can too.
3 Components To Creating The Life Of Your Dreams
There are 3 components to creating the life you want. These are:
1. Decisions – The decisions you make in your life
2. Actions – The actions you take as a result of those decisions
3. Speed – How fast you implement those actions
Now, let me explain how all this works.
Firstly, the reason you’re in the place you’re at right now is because of all the DECISIONS you made and ACTIONS you took in the past. Now, I don’t want to go too much into the past because the past is the past and you can’t change it, but it’s important for you to understand that your life today is the result everything that you did in the past.
So, how do you change your future?
You see, your future literally has an endless amount of possible lifestyles you could be living or types of persons you could become. For example, a few years down the track you could be homeless, a billionaire or anything in between. I’m going to use work and business as an example to expand on this; and then I'll explain how it work in relationships.
How To Become Homeless
Like who wants to know that, right! Haha. But keep reading, there’s a point to this.
Let’s say right now you have a job and one of your future possible lifestyles is being homeless – one of the worse things that could happen to you. So how would you have got there? Well, firstly you’d have to make a specific decision. That decision could be not wanting to work anymore and lounge around at home, chill, watch movies and eat popcorn all day, everyday. So once you’ve made the decision, you action it. Let’s say you hand in your resignation at your job and the following day you’re at home chilling. Now it might be great being at home not working at all for the next few weeks or months; but eventually, because of the decision you made to not work again, you won’t be able to pay your bills, you’ll lose your car, your house, and you’ll end up broke and homeless. And remember, this all started with a decision to not work anymore, which you followed through on.
How To Become More Broke
For the next example, let’s say you end up – not homeless – but in a worse situation that you currently are. So today, you make a decision that you want to buy a new TV, but you don’t have the money. So you get a credit card to purchase the TV. Let’s also say you make a decision to get a job that pays you less – I don’t know why you would do that, but let’s just assume it’s what you did. What would happen in this situation is that after some time you would have got into more debt, you’re getting paid less and you end up even more broke than you were before you made these two significant decisions.
How To Become A Millionaire
Now, let’s say you want to become a millionaire one day. To get there you have to make completely different decisions than what would make you broke or homeless. A significant decision to get you to your goal could be to quit your job, start your own business and play all out in that business. Once you start that business, you’re also going to have to take specific actions to be able to get to being a millionaire. One decision you might make could be doing a course on internet marketing. So you make the decision, take action and register for the course. Another decision you make could be going door-to-door to start building a customer base.
There are literally hundreds, even thousands, of decisions you’re going to have to make to reach your goal of making $1 million; and if you follow through on those decision, eventually you’re going to hit your goal of becoming a millionaire.
It’s important to remember that the lifestyle you create in the future is a result of all the decisions you make, the actions you take, and the speed that you action those decision on, not tomorrow, not yesterday, but TODAY.
If you want to be living an extraordinary life 5 years time from now, start:
1. Making new decisions
2. Taking actions based on those decisions, and
3. Following through on those decisions as fast as possible, TODAY.
Did you get value? Is so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook.

For every action there is a reaction, if you have made the wrong desicions, turn around time has to be quickly as possible! So true, Alex!
So right Annalize! We can always start making better decisions at any point in time 🙂
wow loved what you share to start creating your own life, thank u alex
You’re welcome Sheena!
Very interesting examples you give here, Alex. Where do we put our attention? Reminds me of Abraham’s statement that it’s just as easy to create a castle as it is a button. Make the decision, take the action and follow through as quickly as possible. Excellent formula for change.
That’s what it’s all about Carol – where we put our attention on! And I love that statement by Abraham… I heard once that the difference between making $50,000 per year and $1 million dollars per year is a person’s thinking.
Great post Alex! Without action, the decisions you make are just dreams. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Exactly Stephanie! Sorry for the late reply. Only just realised I never replied to your comment.
